Shopping on Parish Larder
Parish Larder is a directory of local businesses you can buy from in one basket. You can shop without an account, but signing in lets you save addresses, track orders and re-order in a tap.
Finding a stall
Open Shop from the top menu to see every stall on the platform — bakers, butchers, growers, makers, services and more.
- Use the search box to find a name or category.
- Filter by location to see stalls near you.
- Click a stall card to see their full catalogue, opening hours, address and policies.
Adding to your basket
Click any product to view its detail page. Pick a variant if there are options (size, weight, flavour), choose a quantity, and tap Add to basket.
Your basket can contain items from multiple stalls — each merchant is checked out and dispatched independently, so you only pay one delivery fee per stall.
Checking out
Open the basket icon (top right) and tap Checkout. You can pay as a guest with email + card, or sign in to use a saved address.
Pick a delivery slot if the stall offers one, or choose collection if available. Pay with any major card — your card details never touch our servers, they go directly to Stripe.
You will receive an email receipt the moment payment clears.
Tracking an order
Sign in, then open Account → Orders. Each order shows its current stage:
- Awaiting acceptance — the stall has it in their queue.
- Picking — they are putting your items together.
- Out for delivery — a driver is on the way (with live location if available).
- Delivered — proof-of-delivery photo shown for any contactless drop-off.
Subscribing & unsubscribing
When you check the "keep me posted" box at checkout (or on a POS receipt) you join that stall's newsletter list. Each newsletter and receipt has a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer — opting out is instant and reversible.
Saving with offers
Parish Larder has four kinds of offers, all surfaced on each merchant's stall page, on the homepage rails (filtered to producers who can reach you) and on the Town Crier's Merchant Offers tab.
- Flash sale — a producer is selling end-of-day surplus at a discount. Look for the amber banner with the live countdown at the top of a stall page. The items show a struck-through regular price and a flash price; add to basket as normal and the discount applies at checkout. Stock pills warn "Only 3 left" when surplus is running low.
- Group buy — a producer offers a price that only "unlocks" if enough customers pledge by a deadline (e.g. "5kg whole lamb box at £55 if 10 orders by Friday"). You pledge a quantity; once the threshold is hit the offer runs and you're contacted to convert the pledge into a real order. If the threshold isn't met by the deadline, the offer fails and nobody is charged. You can also cancel your own pledge before close.
- Coupon code — a discount you type on the basket page before checkout (percent off or pounds off, sometimes with a minimum spend or a "first 50 customers" cap). Live codes for each stall are listed on the stall page in the Offers section.
- Seasonal box — a curated subscription delivered weekly, fortnightly or monthly. The producer picks what's in season; you get a different selection each delivery. Find them on the homepage Seasonal Boxes rail and the /boxes index.
Offers vanish automatically when they expire (deadline passes, cap fills, capacity sells out, merchant pauses) — what you see on screen is what's actually available right now.
Returns & refunds
Each stall publishes their own returns policy on their stall page. For most fresh produce there is no returns window for hygiene reasons, but if anything is damaged or missing, message the stall directly from your order page and they'll either refund or replace.
