Spring harvest markets to know about

Six market and producer events across England, Wales and Scotland this May and June worth a Saturday morning out.

Spring harvest markets to know about

A list of properly good food markets in spring 2026, weighted towards the ones where the producers are present rather than the ones that are mostly resellers.

Bath Farmers’ Market — Saturdays, Green Park Station. Started 1997, now arguably the best-curated weekly market in the country. Look for Wyfe of Bath cheese, Bertinet Bakery sourdough, and the Park Farm asparagus from late May.

Oxford Covered Market — every Friday and Saturday. Smaller stall count than the big-name markets but a proper concentration of butchers, fishmongers and bakers in one indoor space. Open a hundred-and-fifty years.

Stroud Farmers’ Market — second and last Saturdays. A small Cotswold market that punches above its size. The Five Valleys Farm pork is worth the trip alone; Hobbs House Bakery does a particularly good four-grain.

Borough Market, London — Wednesday to Saturday. Yes, busy. Yes, touristy. Still has a serious producer presence in the back-of-market stalls — Ginger Pig butcher, Neal’s Yard Dairy, Brindisa charcuterie.

Cardiff Riverside Market — Sundays. Welsh-leaning producer roster, decent fish from Pembrokeshire, and the Welsh cakes are made on-site.

Edinburgh Farmers’ Market — Saturdays, Castle Terrace. The most consistently good producer market in Scotland. The Stoats porridge oats, Crombies of Edinburgh sausages, and the East Coast Cured charcuterie are all worth queueing for.

If you’re a merchant on the platform with an event, send us the details and we’ll list the ones we can vouch for.
